TRAINING HORSES, BACKYARD RACEHORSE-STYLE
Janet Del Castillo, author of the training manual BACKYARD RACEHORSE, will be your tour guide and seminar leader. Her involvement in the racing industry has spanned over twenty years. Her practical innovative experience will make your trip unforgettable, fact-filled, and fun.
About the seminar:
Hands-on seminars are held on the weekends at Janet's Rancho Del Castillo in Winter Haven, Florida. Participants arrive Friday night, and leave Sunday night.
In that time, you'll see how a racehorse logically transitions from the farm to the racetrack. By experiencing every part of the process firsthand, with Janet by your side, you'll learn how to adapt your own circumstances to racing off the farm.
The seminar program covers various topics, including:

Farm layout
* Horse equipment specifically used at the racetrack
* The three phases of training

Medication - the good and the bad
* Setbacks
* Many other subjects related to getting your horse to the races.
Janet's seminar always tries to schedule a race or a workout at the local racetrack or training center. A highlight of the weekend is the day spent loading the horses in a van and going to either Tampa Bay Downs, Gulfstream Park, Calder Race Course or an Ocala training center for an actual race or workout!
Participants will have an intense weekend full of racehorse experiences and hands-on lessons in horsemanship. Hopefully, they will leave with a solid idea of how they too can train their own racehorse!

Seminar costs:
The seminar cost is $500.00 each participant. [The cost for each participant's partner or significant other is $250.00.]
Staying at the Rancho Del Castillo farm is $50.00 per night including breakfast.
Lunch the first day is supplied to all attendees at the farm. Each person purchases his own lunch and dinner at the race track. If the trip is overnight to the Miami tracks, then there will be a regular hotel room charge.
