FORUM - PART FOUR I was absolutely thrilled that you called me. I want to order your latest book-send me the info post haste. I took A.T., the little horse I'm galloping at home, on the grass to Retama yesterday. He worked 4 furlongs in 52 with the rider never sitting down on him and is as bright as a new penny today. When I turned him out when we got home, he ran down the hill . Then he came in and ate everything last night and this AM. No swelling on his legs or anything...When he went out this morning he was so wired and felt so good he breezed himself! I'm going back next week for another half mile breeze. I have a really good exercise rider who gives me good feedback about how he feels. I think next week I will have him go a little faster and see what happens. My trainer, Charlotte, (rider who has her own 7/8 mile track down near the border) is one of your haul in people. She really gives the horses a lot of TLC. She has all these little pole pens and some of them stay in those with a shed at the back and some stay in her large airy barn. She has a lovely paddock also. With the exception of Lasix, the horses run with good feed and some natural supplements and she even uses magnets. We are partners on some bargins-one is a two year old "Man From Eldorado" filly we brought (no kidding) at a garage sale. She has had two outs at Retama (2 seconds)! Tonight we go again and she is the favorite...usually bad luck! Our other is a three year old little Roman Diplomat (crossed with a TriJet mare) gelding. He made his first start on the Turf last week and loved it! Was just out of third by a neck in the 1 1/16 in maiden allowance company. Anyway, thanks so much for your advice, I took it and for calling me. I am going to talk with people about a seminar in this area and will be in touch soon. Since I have been fooling with A.T. , I have found that you have many disciples all over, even here in Texas where we have a long way to go to overcome the "Bubba" mentality! Sincerely, Lane Hutchins Hi Lane! You are the most enthusiastic person! I love hearing from you! You're doing it and making it work! Don't you worry about those ole Bubba Boys...our revenge is being very pleasant, liking our horses, and BEATING the BUBBAS at the races...actions speak louder than words! Now...about this garage salehorse...when that one wins, you've got to talk with the publicity department at the race track...that's a great story! It certainly is proof that a horse can come from anywhere!-editor Dear BYRH Today I got back from my trip to Florida. First I want to thank you for the wonderful time I had at the farm and what I learned about racing was most welcome. The seminar was very interesting in all respects and the members of the group were eager to learn as much as they could. I have to give you credit for running the farm and all the extra jobs that go with it. Some people will drown in two inches of water cause they don't know how to lift their head. With all the facts of life that you have encountered it is with God's blessing that you still come out on top. Today at the training center they breezed my colt for the first time and he went three furlongs in 36.2! He was supposed to go in 38 seconds but the jock said he was nearly choking the horse. Anyway, thanks for every thing...I hope we meet in the winner's circle! Sincerely, Jose was the Chief Engineer in a ship and he knows how to fix anything. He has a nice St. Ballado colt and is getting excited as this horse has so much going for him. I think we will see him in the winner's circle soon!- editor Go
